Association of Consulting Engineers of Nigeria Conference identity, planning, promotional print collateral, design direction for site revamp and interactive media support are multiple outputs commisioned by Engr. Kunle Ogunbayo ACEN president 2009-2011. The design process was a collaboration with ACEN's conference planning team. The process was designed to act as an integrative catalyst for interdisciplinary leadership drawn from local and international business, politics, government and academia into a partnership committed to fostering national economic growth. The Book ''Engineering is Development" by Engr. Bayo Adeola was a precursor to the conference.
The book follows the evolution of consulting engineering in the context of Nigeria's developmentally challenged history. The professional engineering body's view on how the interplay between technology, policy, research & development, innovation, national priorities and basic needs of the average Nigerian require a concerted effort underlines the narrative.
The book design integrates a cover and internal identity designed by Angela Charlemagne. Bridging the association's history, the cover of the book features typography predominating the jacket as a graphic pattern, which was inspired by industrial, engineering and architectural elements. Inside, the story of ACEN is traced through images including historical photographs, illustrations, histograms and plans, visual metaphors and ephemera.
