Successfully communicating an idea of what to envision on behalf of a client for print or digital communications to creatives is subjective and can be challenging.
Avant Garde (AVG) is a project finance advisory & monitoring consultancy creating value for clients with business planning, feasibilty study advisory, project structuring and financial analysis. Critical point of differentiation in terms of service experience for AVG’s clients range from high value advise substantiated by technical capability to reduce risks to high quality visual and video reporting enabling clients to assess key project performance indicators.
CEO David Edevbie approached us to help accelerate the progress of AVG from start up to a service delivering consultancy. To support client interfacing efforts with a service identity, communication and publication design solution. It needed to work hard to build anticipation based projects which had been delivered and those in progress by documenting the process behind how value was built for project end-users.
Objective, to increase inquiries from high level decision makers in the public and private sector operating in Nigeria’s infrastructure development community both locally and internationally.
Colleagues at AVG, Lagos based photography team – Folarin Shasanya and Tope Kogbe – as well project team of designers, model makers, illustrators and editors at OsanNimu found impromptu user oriented design clinics on Skype useful to inform a design production pathway.
We worked with AVG’s Principal Partner David Edevbie and CEO Adewale Alli acting as project management lead. AVG’s creative and project management team were fully aware of project needs, we collaborated on how to make these visually explicit with flat-plans and evolved a project pathway which informed the design process. We adopted a client staff-centred service and prototype-driven process to resolve ill-defined problems in-order to imagine the broader experience of how Avant Garde’s clients might use its expertise based services. This in turn enabled us to develop a comprehensive content strategy and narrative style.
By looking beyond the service to take a broader view of client usage issues and activities around the service, we focused on finding effective ways to address local client perceptions, create talk-worthiness, and fuel differentiation, by design.
